8 Mukhi Rudraksha
8 Mukhi Rudraksha is a rare bead and it is available in lesser numbers than seven mukhi rudraksha. In the year 2000, the crop of eight mukhi rudraksha was very poor and there was great shortage of this bead. The shape of the Nepalese variety is slightly elliptical. It is observed that from this bead upwards, the shape tends to become oval. The Indonesian variety is smaller in size (9 mm to 15 mm in diameter). The cost of 8 mukhi rudraksha is almost 10 to 20 times that of seven mukhi rudraksha.
8 Mukhi rudraksha is blessed by Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles, (Vighnaharta). As per Shrimad Devibhagwat, Padma Puran and Mantra Maharnava, this rudraksha is assigned to Kartikeya and Ganesh. As per Rudrakshajabalopanishad, it is a form of eight mother goddesses, eight Vasus and Ganga and all the three give their blessings to the wearer. It improves intelligence and health. It also gives the wearer an analytical mind, great understanding and good writing skills. Sins committed while telling lies get condoned by wearing this. It is also known to bring in fame, excellence in art, leadership qualities and prosperity.
From medical viewpoint, it may cure diseases of the nervous system, prostate and gall bladder.

Who should wear?
Usually,8 Mukhi Rudraksha is worn along with seven mukhi rudraksha. People, who confront obstacles in life and get failures, should wear this rudraksha. It can also be used to propitiate Shani Bhagwan and people having Shani Dosha should wear it along with seven mukhi rudraksha.
